Contest Submission Rules

    • Your story should fit the prompt (and all the regulations, expanded in rule #4)

    • It must be written by you, the use of AI or other generator-like programs is strictly forbidden.

    • Collaborations are allowed but you must be one of the submitting authors.

    • Previously published stories are not allowed

    • If you have a story that you’ve been keeping in your drive for some time, that is not published anywhere but fits the prompt, you are free to submit it.

    • The story must be submitted anonymously via our tumblr

    • To submit anonymously, log out or open tumblr in an incognito window.

    • If you are completely unable to use tumblr for reasons but wish to take part in the contest, please reach out to us on our tumblr or on discord so that we can make arrangements.

    • Stories should be submitted within the time window of the first day of the month till midnight (Baker Island timezone GMT -12) of the last day of the month.

    • After submission period is over, stories will be held for a day before being posted on our tumblr.

    • Each story must be within the provided word limit.

      • Word counts are checked using Google Docs as such there is a leeway of 2% less than the minimum word count and 2% more than the maximum word count.

    • Contain or exclude specific banned/allowed elements

      • Examples include, no NSW or violence if it was banned, angst if it was required etc.

    • Each story must fit the prompt.

    • Each story must be Elsanna or Snow Sisters.

      • The characters of Elsa and Anna must be in a romantic relationship (or the beginnings thereof) or sisters, or both.

      • If they are sisters who are not romantically involved with each other, it must center on their sisterly relationship and ideally not contain other ship content.

      • One-sided ‘yearning’ types of stories do count as romantic Elsanna.

    • The core goal of our contest is to bring more content for the Elsanna fandom. Thus, we wish to endorse stories that fit these criteria only.

    • Submitted stories that do not adhere to the regulations will be disqualified.

    • Disqualified stories will still be posted on to our blog but it will not be eligible to be voted for.

      • Exceptions to this are disqualified stories as describe in Rule 6, they will not be posted.

    • Disqualified stories can still be reviewed by members of our reviewing club on our discord but are not considered mandatory to review.

    • A story might get disqualified and not posted at all on our blog if it contains elements that are considered to be:

      • racist

      • homophobic

      • hateful towards any minority

      • contain excessive violence

      • sexually obscene and grotesque or otherwise disgusting

    • Starting April 2022 until further notice.

    • Stories set in:

      • Wartime of any real war that is currently happening or has occurred past the year 1900 are strictly not allowed on our blog.

      • This does not pertain to settings of events that happen concurrently with wars but not mentioning the actual war.

        • For example, a story that happens to be set in 1960’s USA

      • This does not pertain to fictional conflict.

      • Stories that are sit in the real world with a fictional war oddly similar to an actual conflict might be subject to further scrutiny.

    • Bonus restrictions for a prompt do not have to be fulfilled.

    • When completed, the author is award an extra favourite point.

    • In the case of non-binary restrictions, (where there isn’t a clear ‘yes done’ or ‘not done’ situation such as using a specific word):

      • The decision of awarding the extra point is given to the descretion of the prompt giver (winner of the previous month) with no knowledge of the voting situation.

    • Authors of stories remain anonymous for the duration of the submission phase and voting period.

    • The winner is determined by the amount of favourite votes the story gets.

    • Authors are allowed to vote for stories like everyone else, but they should not vote for their own story.

    • Stories can be withdrawn from voting, the monthly review club (MRC) or both at the author’s request.

    • If you wish for you story to not be included in either or both of those contest-related activities, please state so at the beginning of your submission.

      • If you have already submitted and decide to withdraw from the contest related activies after, please contact us on our tumblr or one of the mods on our discord.

    • In case of a favourite votes tie, kudos will be used to break the tie.

    • If it is a perfect tie (same amount of favourites and kudos) between two or more stories:

      • The authors of the tied stories will be asked if they wish to cooperate with the prize.

      • If refused, an additional flash voting will be posted between the tied stories.

    • The prize for winning the contest is setting the prompt for the next month.

    • In the case of a double win (winning two months in a row), the prize is given to the first runner-up of the latest monthly win.

    • Should there be a tie for first runner-up, rule 9 would apply.
